Welcome to Elishevapots! I'm Elisheva... and these are my pots.

I was 15 when I had my first go at the wheel. I had to take a studio art class in order to graduate high school so I signed up for ceramics because I didn’t know how to draw or paint. I remember the first day watching my teacher's hands push and pull the ball of clay into a plate–I became completely hypnotized by the beauty of the wheel spinning around and around. When it was finally my turn on the wheel, I immediately fell in love with throwing.
Hundreds of plates, bowls, cups, vases and other projects later, I'm still in love with pottery. I still feel that every pound of clay I wedge is an opportunity to experiment with the material. I am continuously developing my technique and designs as well as my capacity for production.
Each step of a pot's journey—wedging, throwing, trimming, glazing, and firing—I find to be equal parts fun and meditative , so I try to share that through the varying shapes and colors of my pieces. If you can hold a piece in your hands and feel a tiny spark of joy or a small wave of calm, I will have achieved my goal.
Thank you for looking at my work.
